Our holiday in Galathee was fabulous. The house is wonderfully pretty and welcoming and has a lovely atmosphere. We loved its proximity to the harbour and took many a stroll down to the water to sit and people-watch whilst eating icecream or drinking a glass or 2 of wine. I loved the courtyard and often sat there of an afternoon to waterpaint (badly) while William went off round the island on a hired bicycle. We appreciated all the ‘mod cons’ in the kitchen and the bathroom (and the British tv channels) and we really loved your clever decor. Valerie was very friendly and helpful. The weather was pretty kind to us, in that we only had one rainy day whilst the rest of the time the sun shone, albeit with a chilly wind quite often. We tried quite a few of your restaurant recommendations and would put Les Embruns top for friendliness, menu originality and taste.
I genuinely want to return to Île de Ré and Galathee for another holiday next year and have been recommending you to many of our family and friends.
